On the basis that photographers generally try to blend in with those around them, that must've been one hell of an assignment :-)
By the way, great line from a great film... Apparently... "Dennis Hopper was originally going to play Willard's (Martin Sheen) predecessor, but he was too affected by drugs to play a military type, so Coppola wrote him a part as a crazy photo-journalist"... who is reputed to be based on Vietnam war photographer Tim Page.
When an actor is too drug-crazed to realistically play a special-forces officer on an assassination mission in the jungle at the height of the Vietnam war, so the director instead writes him a part based on YOU... I guess that would be a good indicator to slow down a bit :-)
